THE MARCUS AURELIUS INSTITUTE

Terms of use

These terms govern your use of the Ontario Premier Council of Wisdom. They are written in plain language and are not themselves legal advice. By creating an account or using the tool, you agree to them.

What this service is

The Council is a deliberation aid that produces historically informed interpretations using artificial intelligence. It informs a judgment; it does not make one. A named human decision-maker remains accountable for any advice that leaves the tool.

Your account

You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity carried out under your account. Provide accurate name and organization details, since they appear as the preparer on exported documents. Do not share one account between people who should not see each other's inquiries.

Acceptable use

You agree not to use the Council to:

  • produce content that demeans or discriminates against any person or group, including on the basis of race, Indigenous identity, ancestry, place of origin, creed, sex, gender identity or expression, sexual orientation, age, disability or family status;
  • present its output as a real quotation, a verified citation, or the position of any actual person, government or ministry;
  • substitute its output for legal, financial, medical, clinical or other professional advice, or make it the sole basis of a decision affecting a person's rights, benefits or safety;
  • upload material you do not have the right to share, or personal information you do not need to include;
  • attempt to circumvent the safety wrapper, scrape the service, or resell access to it.

Your content, and the outputs

The inquiry text, notes and files you upload remain yours. You grant us only the limited permission needed to process them so the Council can respond.

This document is licensed to the named preparer and their organization for internal use. The framework, structure and template remain the property of The Marcus Aurelius Institute.

Ownership of the site, the method, the persona profiles and the templates is set out on the legal notices page.

Third-party material

Directive text is reproduced from public ontario.ca sources and remains under Crown copyright of His Majesty the King in Right of Ontario.

Premier names are used for historical commentary and imply no endorsement by any person, estate, party or government. Sources you retrieve through evidence search remain subject to their own publishers' terms.

No warranty

The service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. AI output can be incomplete, outdated or wrong. We do not warrant that any ruling is accurate, that a cited source exists as described, or that the service will be uninterrupted or error-free.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss, or for any decision made in reliance on the tool's output. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

Changes, suspension and termination

We may change or discontinue features, and may suspend an account that breaches these terms. Material changes to these terms will be posted on this page before they take effect. You may stop using the service and request deletion of your account at any time.

Governing law and contact

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
